Maybe I’m missing something, but the more I look at the timeline the stranger it seems. Qatar (Asia) hosted in 2022. USA, Canada and Mexico (CONCACAF) host in 2026. Spain, Portugal and Morocco (UEFA/CAF) host in 2030. Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay are also given opening matches in 2030, bringing CONMEBOL into the hosting arrangement.
