Number Farm

Count, drag and cheer!

Ages 5 and up

Number Farm

How to play

  • Each animal shows a number, as a numeral and as a row of little pictures.
  • Drag that many items from the bin onto its tray. Each one counts up with a note.
  • From the second world on, ring the dinner bell when you think the tray is right.
  • Too few and the animal waits. Too many and the extras hop back into the bin.
  • Undo is always free and the hint hand shows what to do next. There is no way to lose.

Controls

  • Phone, tablet or mouse: Drag an item from the bin onto an animal's tray. Tap an animal to hear its tray counted, and tap the dinner bell when you think the number is right.
  • Keyboard: Arrow keys or W A S D move the focus ring, Space or Enter picks up and drops. Z undoes, H shows a hint. Esc or P pauses.
  • Gamepad: D-pad moves the focus ring, A picks up and drops, B undoes, Y shows a hint. Start pauses.

Tips

  • Count carefully before you ring the bell: finishing a level with no mistakes earns three stars.
  • Undo, restart and hints are free, but they can't take back a mistake you already made.
  • On bell levels you can fill one tray and ring right away, because empty trays are skipped.
  • Carry food over an animal and watch: if it opens its mouth, that's the right food for it.

About this game

Every animal on the farm is hungry for a number! The bunny says "7", so count seven carrots from the wooden bin and drag them onto its tray. Each one lands with a wooden tock, a number pops up and a note climbs the scale, so you hear the counting as well as see it: one, two, three, four... Bring exactly the right number and the bunny cheers, munches everything up and hops all the way around the field.

Every number is shown two ways: a big numeral and a row of little pictures, in rows of five, so players still learning their numbers can match the pictures and players who know their numerals can count out loud. Nothing on screen needs reading.

The farm grows as you play. Level 1 is one carrot. Later come eggs, apples, hay bales, daisies and corn, two and three animals with different wants, bigger numbers all the way to twenty, and adding: the bunny shows "3 + 2" and wants the total. From the second world on, ring the dinner bell when you think the tray is right. Too few and the animal waits with a hopeful "hmm"; too many and the extras hop back into the bin.

90 levels in six farm worlds, with a little party every fifth level. Undo is always free, a hint hand is one tap away, and every item has its own shape as well as its own color, so everyone can play. No timers and no way to lose.

Number Farm plays in your browser on phones, tablets and computers. No download, no sign-up.
